Police Involved in Two Gun Incidents

POLICE FIGHT MAN WITH GUN 11-193:
On 1/27/11 at 0411 hours Ferndale officers responded to a suspicious male complaint on Pearson near Woodward. The caller, a 28 year old Ferndale man, reported that a white male later identified as Sean Constance, appeared on the south side of Pearson west of Woodward.
As the witness approached him the suspect reached his hand into one of his pockets as if to grab a weapon. The caller sped away and called 911. Police responded and an officer found Constance walking on Woodward near Leroy.
Constance refused to obey the commands of the officer to stop and to show his hands from his coat pocket. Eventually, the officer grabbed Constance who fought with police. Another officer arrived and helped to handcuff Constance. During the fight with police, a pistol fell out of the suspect’s coat pocket.
SUSPECT: SEAN PATRICK CONSTANCE, w/m, 28 yrs, Florida resident, formerly from Garden City. He has an extensive criminal history with convictions for crimes including: Larceny from Auto, Fleeing, Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, Resisting police. Constance was charged with: 1. Carrying a Concealed Weapon 2. Felon in possession of a firearm 3. Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony 4. Resisting and Obstructing Police. He was arraigned by Magistrate and is currently being held on $150, 000 cash/surety.
FERNDALE POLICE ARREST DETROIT ARMED ROBBERS ARMED WITH “ASSAULT WEAPON”
On 01-27-2011 at 1303 hrs., the Ferndale Police Department received a 911 telephone call regarding four black males that were possibly committing an Armed Robbery at the Valero gas station in Detroit at W. 8 Mile & Livernois. Ferndale officers responded to the area of W. 8 Mile & Livernois to assist the Detroit Police Department.
Ferndale officers arrived and checked the Valero gas station at 6401 W. 8 Mile, then checked the BP gas station at 4125 W. 8 Mile. When officers pulled into the BP gas station lot, a black male ran from the front of the business WB through the parking lot, across Livernois toward the Valero gas station. He was arrested by Ferndale officers in the Valero gas station parking lot. Ferndale officers arrested another man in the BP lot. Ferndale officers then went inside the BP gas station and arrested a third black male inside the store then covered a bathroom door at gun point where a 4th black male was hiding. Detroit officers arrived, and the fourth suspect, who was armed with a Tech 9 was arrested. All prisoners were turned over to Detroit Police and any more details of the event must be obtained from Detroit.
