Ferndale Science Fiction Book Club, Every Second Wednesday at Seven

It’s no longer hard to justify science fiction as “serious” literature, since it seems like everybody’s doing it these days–Michael Chabon, Philip Roth, Kazuo Ishiguro, Margaret Atwood–but the best justification is that it is fun to read.

So join us on Wednesday, October 13th for our first Ferndale Science Fiction Book Club meeting.  We begin with a classic alternate history story: Philip K. Dick’s The Man in the High Castle (which takes the standard Nazis on Mars nightmare and enriches it with a subtle considerations about the meaning of truth, history and authenticity.

The club will meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm at the Ferndale Public Library at 222 E. 9 Mile.
