Two men are in custody for breaking into vacant homes and stealing copper piping. This type of crime has been plaguing the area.

Beverly Hills Police stopped the men for a traffic violation. The driver of the car had a suspended driver’s license and the passenger had a warrant for his arrest. The two were arrested and upon further investigation, BHPD discovered copper piping in the rear seat of the car. The officers also found a list of addresses of houses, including two homes in Ferndale.

They gave this information to Ferndale police who checked the vacant homes (on E. Webster and Ardmore streets) and found that the copper plumbing had been cut out and removed from the houses. The suspects were turned over to Ferndale PD.

Warrants were issued against each suspect for two counts of Breaking and Entering a Building (10 Year Felony).

Both suspects have criminal histories.
