Cowgirl Pub Crawl March 26 to Benefit Camp Casey

This second annual Cowgirl Pub Crawl takes place on Saturday, March 26 from 5pm to 11pm at several Downtown Ferndale Bars. Participants pay $25 and receive a souvenir glass mug as well as exclusive drink specials at Woodward Avenue Brewers, The Emory, The Post Bar, Como’s and Sneakers Pub. 100 percent of the pub crawl profits go directly to Camp Casey.

Fourth Graders’ Charity Makes it Big Time…

…The girls were also invited by organizer Dean Bach to set up a table and sell dog toys that they had made to raise money for K9 Club Cares. There were multi-colored chew toys made of fleece, and ceramic dogs tags available. Over 100 items were sold during the four-hour event. They expected sales to be $200, but a generous anonymous donor made their till double by the end of the day…

Free Animal Control Service by County…

Oakland County is in the process of revamping their Animal Control Division to account for an expected increase in cities using their services. The massive restructuring has come about due to officials in Ferndale learning that 39 communities have been enjoying service from the County for free, while 22 municipalities have been managing it themselves at their own expense.

Fire Consumes Hazel Park Home

Just after 8pm on Dec. 22, 2010 Ferndale Police and Fire Departments were called to 23123 Berdeno Ave. in Hazel Park to assist the neighboring fire department with a home engulfed in flames.

It all started with one man wanting to do something good.

David Rosentrater of University of Phoenix found Waggs and Wishes and Angie Potter on Facebook and decided that is the organization he was going to help out. He teamed up with Neil Hunter, another Enrollment Counselor at University or Phoenix, and came up with a contest that would net Waggs and Wishes the haul of a lifetime!
