FernCare Bowl-A-Thon Tops $4,000

The money raised goes towards operation of the FernCare clinic, which currently provides free medical care to over 50 patients. The clinic has a paid medical supervisor and a team of volunteers, including a pharmacist and security, to provide basic medical care to those who cannot afford it.

When the community came together to raise money for a free health clinic, it took a lot of work by many individual donors, businesses, and volunteers. Now as they are approach their first winter serving those in need, FernCare must continue to raise money and acquire supplies in order to keep the free service going.

The FernCare Free Clinic (459 E. 9 Mile) had its ribbon cutting ceremony and open house today, after three and a half years of fundraising and planning by hundreds of volunteers, donors and supporters.

Fern Care Free Clinic Opens Doors This Weekend, Open House Oct 8

Today they will see their first patients in their own offices at 459 E. 9 Mile. The official grand opening will be October 8 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house from 10am to 4pm. The public is encouraged to attend.

Valentine’s Dinner for FernCare

ON FEBRUARY 14, 2011 from 6 – 10pm, Chef Stef and the Asiatic Acoustic Mobile Dinner Theatre will host a three-course dinner complete with live jazz music at Elegance By Design, 231 W. Nine Mile in Ferndale to benefit the FernCare free health clinic.
