The grant helps secure an additional, matched $100,000 donation from Sutar Sutarek Foundation to ensure college scholarships and college readiness for every high school graduate from Hazel Park High School.

George Feld is another FYA Board Member, serving as the group’s Treasurer. “In the early 90’s I was Accounting Supervisor for the Schools and the Superintendent asked me to get involved. I retired in 2003, but I still do the accounting for FYA as my way of giving back,” Feld said.
Shortly after the chase ended, a Hazel Park officer saw the pick-up at a gas station in Hazel Park; it was now driven by a woman. Officers approached her and she told them it was her husband who fled from the police.

The event, scheduled for August 26, 2011, will take participants on a drinking tour of the city. Oakland County is in the process of revamping their Animal Control Division to account for an expected increase in cities using their services. The massive restructuring has come about due to officials in Ferndale learning that 39 communities have been enjoying service from the County for free, while 22 municipalities have been managing it themselves at their own expense.
