At a virtual community meeting held Jan. 12, several FPS staffers talked about pieces of the puzzle in keeping school a safe and welcoming place for the 3,000 students that come to learn in seven buildings spread across three cities.
Over the past five years, she has embraced and pushed the district’s mission to provide all students with an exceptional education that prepares them for college, careers, and success in a diverse society.
The Board of Education is now seeking applications to fill his position and serve until the certification of the next general election in November of 2022.
O’Donnell joined the board as part of a slate of “BOLD” candidates – Amy Butters, Jim O’Donnell, Raylon Leaks-May, and Kevin Deegan-Krause who campaigned on a promise of change.
Because of a deed restriction, they must get support from over 600 neighbors in order for the City of Oak Park to be in the clear to sell them the land.
After retiring from a career at Macy’s, Deborah Grant looked for something to do. She wanted to help. She wanted to work with kids. That’s why she joined the Foster Grandparent Program at Ferndale Schools.
“For the students that come back it’s still not going to be a traditional classroom experience of what they’re used to,” Good said.
The grants reach every school building and cover a range of student and teacher needs.
