Just as the artists hone their skills we are consistently doing the same,” said Chris Johnston, event founder and co-owner of Woodward Avenue Brewers, The Emory and The Loving Touch establishments near the event site. “I think we’re going to show a lot of people a great time in Ferndale again this September.”

Pig & Whiskey Gets Ferndale Full!

With the lure of great local bands, multiple styles of BBQ, and plenty of booze to wash it down, The Pig & Whiskey festival brought over 10,000 people to Downtown Ferndale on Saturday alone. Sizable crowds attended Friday and Sunday as well. The massive event, put on by Metro Times, The Woodward Avenue Brewers and The Emory, took place July 13, 14, and 15, 2012.

Ferndale Business Recycling Grows as New Year Begins

The new year is off to a great start recycling-wise as SOCRRA (Southeast Oakland County Resource Recovery Authority) is working with a record number of Ferndale businesses and increasing revenue brought into the City through recycling programs.

Colette Farris spent the last two months of 2011 amping up efforts to reach the business community.
