The Ferndale Area Chamber Commerce hosted a Candidate’s Forum on Oct. 12, 2011. Business owners came together to meet the candidates for Mayor and City Council and find out what they had to say about interacting with the business community.
Over 60 senior citizens turned out for the October 12, 2011 Ferndale Seniors Candidate Meet and Greet, held at the Kulick Community Center (1201 Livernois). The candidates were given five minutes each to speak, and then got to answer questions and enjoy cake with some of Ferndale’s most long-standing residents.
There will be one Mayor elected between Willis and Coulter. Among Wells, Martin and Lennon, two will be elected to Council. With the November 8, 2011 elections fast approaching, there are several ways you can find the information you need in order to learn about the candidates for Mayor, City Council and Library Board in Ferndale.

“Once the Board has a chance to have their meeting we will know more about how this will work. It’s a new kind of group and we’ve never done anything like this before. SOCRRA consists of twelve member municipalities with a total population of approximately 283,000 and covers an area of 75 square miles. Member cities are Berkley, Beverly Hills, Birmingham, Clawson, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Huntington Woods, Lathrup Village, Oak Park, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak and Troy.
They asked the honorees to each give words of advice.
