The Fifth Annual Commercial Property Showcase took place on Thursday, Sept. 22 and featured 25 available retail, commercial, office and industrial spaces available throughout the city. There were also two guest speakers, along with Ferndale Area Chamber Director Jennifer Roosenberg who talked about how to best present a property to prospective buyers.
Bosch Auto Parts, one of the sponsors of the Annual Woodward Dream Cruise, has put together a fun, 3 minute video giving a history of the event. Larry and Monica Mills and Dennis Emmi were featured in the video, sharing their memories.
In the beautiful sunshine of a September Saturday afternoon, two Ferndale business owners were hard at work the Ferndale Fire Department’s Headquarters and main fire station at 1635 Livernois, cutting out sections of the building’s front wall to increase the openings for the garage doors so the new fire truck can fit.

The second annual Transgender Health Fair educated attendees about hormones, safe sex, gender reconstruction surgeries, counseling, laser hair removal, prescription drug coverage and supportive organizations. Transgender Michigan hosted the event, filling Affirmations’ front gallery with rows of informational booths, seminars and forums. More than 100 attended.

Ferndale City Council will be holding a special City Council meeting on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 7:00pm to discuss the power outage that occurred from July 20 to July 23, 2011. “This will be an opportunity for DTE to discuss what occurred over the summer and address the concerns our residents have,” said Mayor Dave Coulter. “Residents have been frustrated with the recent power outages and want answers.”
