The Ferndale Public School District is working with a consultant from Oakland Schools, Dr. Lindson Feun of the Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Department, to design a statistically sound parent survey which will provide the district feedback on current elementary programming and learn about parents’ interests in future programs.

Free Prostate Cancer Screening Tests Jan. 29

The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center and Kroger are teaming up to promote prostate cancer awareness and early detection with free prostate cancer screening tests from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Kroger store at 8920 Eight Mile Road in Ferndale. The event also includes free giveaways and prizes.

Two Transgender Days in the Works, Ideas and Volunteers Needed

Organizers for two Transgender-themed events are working together to give the trans community a “visible” ending to their March and an “empowering” way to begin April. They are looking for transpeople and allies to come to a planning meeting Feb 8 to share ideas and get involved.
