Community Input Mtg. Monday to Discuss N. Woodward

The community input meeting takes place on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 from 6:30pm-8pm at Woodward Avenue Candy Shop (23337 Woodward). Cristina Shepard-Decius announced the event at last Monday’s council meeting, saying “We want to find out business needs for Woodward Avenue. How do you interface with businesses that are along there?”

Professor Roth to talk about Pearl Harbor and effects of attack

One of the season’s first chilly nights was made merry by the Downtown Ferndale’s Third Thursday Light the Night Event. Businesses along 9 Mile and Woodward got decked in a way they haven’t for years, with an abundance of lights and festive window displays.

On Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 7:00 pm the Transition Ferndale Third Thursday Video at The Ferndale Public Library (222 E. 9 Mile) will be Growthbusters, a documentary about Dave Gardner’s campaign for city council as a candidate opposed to furthering growth.

Light the Town This Thursday

Despite the deceptively warm weather, winter is coming and it’s time to get Downtown Ferndale lit up and decked out for the holidays. On Thursday, Nov. 17 Downtown Ferndale will have a Light the Town event from 6-9pm along W. 9 Mile Road.

Scouts Collect Food for Gleaners

When the community came together to raise money for a free health clinic, it took a lot of work by many individual donors, businesses, and volunteers. Now as they are approach their first winter serving those in need, FernCare must continue to raise money and acquire supplies in order to keep the free service going.

Chamber Gives Awards, Celebrates 75 Years

The Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards & Recognition Gala presented by Gage Products Company took place on Nov. 10, 2011 with a diamond-studded event designed to honor the over 200 local businesses that make up the Chamber, and to celebrate their 75th anniversary.
