Police Looking for Teens Who Escaped Children’s Village Custody

(OCSO, Nov. 22, 2021)

Pontiac, MI- The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office was  notified Sunday evening by Children’s Village staff that Elijah Travis Daniel Lee, 16, who is  charged with multiple counts of assault with intent to murder, and a second juvenile, Kuran  Melvin-Vito Dolton-Burton, 15, had escaped from the facility on Telegraph Road just south of  Dixie Highway.

The pair had been working on a food service detail at Children’s Village and were last seen  about 7:40 p.m. Attempts to find the escapees have so far been unsuccessful.

Oakland County prosecutors charged Lee in a juvenile petition with three counts of assault with  intent to murder in connection with a March 21 incident. Deputies were sent to 100 block of  Blaine Ave. on the report of a shooting that had just occurred. Lee was identified as the person  wearing a red hoodie and a paper mask who shot multiple times into the home. Two men – 71- year-old Pontiac resident and a 24-year-old Waterford resident – were each shot and suffered  non-life-threatening injuries. A third man, a 21-year-old from Waterford, was not injured.  Lee and a second juvenile were both charged in the incident. That juvenile, age 14, remains in  Children’s Village and faces the same charges as Lee. Lee was arrested the following day in  Detroit on a Greyhound bus. His mother had put him on the bus to Florida and he was traveling  under an alias, Detectives said.

Dolton-Burton is charged with car theft and two counts of hit and run for a May 17 incident in  Pontiac.  He is accused of stealing his aunt’s car and hitting several vehicles on Ferry Street before  fleeing the area. He was found several blocks away in the 200 block of Prospect St. Dolton- Burton was being chased by another man, who told Deputies, “That’s him!” Deputies arrested  him after a short foot chase.

Lee is 5-foot 6-inches tall, weighs about 150 and was last seen wearing a yellow polo shirt,  black khakis, a gray “Nike” hoodie, and county-issued flip-flops.

Dolton-Burton is described as 6-feet 1-inches tall, weighs 200 pounds and was wearing a black  bubble-type jacket, a Nike jacket, an orange polo shirt, black khakis, and county-issued flip- flops.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two juveniles should call Crime Stoppers  at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest and  the caller will remain anonymous.
