Reporter Food: Crispelli’s Bakery and Pizzeria

This is my second review of Crispelli’s Bakery and Pizzeria.  The first time I had their delicious braised short ribs.  But whenever I write about pizza I get messages saying I should add theirs to the list.  So I was happy to give them another visit, this time at their West Bloomfield location.

For this visit, I had the deep dish white pizza with chicken added. I also ordered a small Caesar salad with olives added, and tiramisu for desert.

The White Pie comes with mozzarella, olive oil, parmigiano reggiano, minced roasted garlic, and artichoke hearts. Other pizza options include prosciutto and arugula, bbq chicken, red pie with tomato sauce sausage and caramelized onion, and the shrimp and chorizo.

There are also lots of topping choices to build your own. In addition to traditional favorites like pepperoni, ham, green olives, and anchovies there are choices like feta, jalapenos, peppadew, proscuitto, shrimp and wild mushrooms. Crispelli’s also has sandwiches, soups, and salads.
