Ferndale Library to Begin Lending Telescopes, Hosting Launch Event Nov. 11

Ferndale, MI – On Thursday November 11 at 6:30pm, the Ferndale Area District Library presents “Telescope Launch!” an in-person event coordinated with the Warren Astronomical Society.

Starting Nov. 11th, FADL cardholders can check out telescopes! These telescopes, modified with the help of the Warren Astronomical Society, are powerful enough to view the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter but simple enough for beginners.

Members of the Warren Astronomical Society will be on hand. Attendees will learn the basics of how to use the telescopes and even do a little stargazing (weather permitting—dress appropriately!).

If there are more interested parties than telescopes, a raffle will determine who gets to take them home first.

The Ferndale Library is located at 222 E. Nine Mile Road.
