Aug 6 – Royal Oak Citizens Police Academy Returns

The Royal Oak Police Department is accepting applications for the 2021 Citizens Police Academy.

The Royal Oak Citizens Police Academy is an exciting seven-week course that meets once a week on Wednesday evenings at the police station at 6:30 p.m. Classes last for approximately three hours. The fall session begins Oct. 6, 2021.

Open only to residents of Royal Oak, attendees get an insider’s look at the internal operations and challenges of the police department. You must be 18 years of age or older to attend the academy. All potential applicants are screened before they are accepted. You will be notified no later than Sept. 30, 2021, if you have been admitted. Questions regarding the academy should be directed to Lt. Al Carter at albertc@romi.gov.

The class size for the academy is limited and generally fills up quickly so if you are interested, do not delay!
