Reporter Food: Sheldon’s Street Pizza

Reporter Food: Sheldon’s Street Pizza

(Crystal A. Proxmire, July 23, 2021)

Lake Orion, MI – Sheldon’s Street Pizza is new to their location at 3767 S. Baldwin Road after operating out of a gas station convenience store for years. The bright new space gives them plenty of room to create their fabulous pizzas, including the Bacon Cheeseburger.

This amazing specialty pizza comes  with fresh ground beef, bacon, onion, and American cheese, topped with tomato, lettuce, ketchup, mustard and mayo (with no pizza sauce). The owner, whose name is Sheldon, assured me this would taste just like a real cheeseburger. Except in a way it was better, in my humble opinion, because this soft, warm pizza dough tops any burger bun I’ve had (besides my beloved White Castle sliders of course!).

Other options include the BLT, the spinach pie, Philly cheesesteak, margherita, and honey chicken sriracha. For those who want to create their own combinations, there are many items available including pepperoni, ham, chicken mushrooms, pepper rings, fresh tomato, pineapple, spinach, broccoli, kalamata olives and more.

I also ordered a Greek salad topped with feta, beets, red onion, pepperochini, tomato, and kalamata olives (except I had mine without the pepperochini). Thy also have Caesar, Chef, and Antipasto salads. Sheldon’s also offers calazones, Italian rolls, hot sandwiches, deli wraps, and deserts.  As a bonus, you’ll probably get to meet Sheldon and his family, who are very friendly, proud of their pizzas, and happy to be in their new space.
