Ferndale, MI – Downtown Ferndale will soon have four new businesses as the retail space on the ground level of the dot mixed use parking deck gets built out and leased. Greg Erne of Versa Wanda LLC was at Ferndale City Council Monday night to announce three of the four tenants who will be dividing up 15,000 square foot of retail space.
My Salon Suite is a franchise that builds salon spaces within a larger space and rents them to licensed hairstylists, barbers, and others who perform similar services. Alpesh Trivedi is the owner of My Salon Suites in Northville, Clawson, and Ann Arbor. He was attracted to Downtown Ferndale by the location, but has been further impressed by the community itself. “I must say the vibes here are amazing. It’s a very welcoming, diverse city and I see that.” Trivedi said that all locations are so popular there is a waiting list for those interested in renting a space.
Trivedi’s suites will be joined by A & B Bridal Shop, Quix Chocolates, and one more tenant with whom negotiations have not yet been finalized.
Erne spoke of A & B’s commitment to inclusivity and serving all genders with their wedding needs. He also gave an introduction for Quix Chocolate, saying that the owner is a native of Belgium looking to bring the skill of his homeland to Downtown Ferndale.
The space still requires build-out to meet the tenants’ needs. That work should begin soon, with November as the target date for opening according to Ferndale Economic Development Director Jordan Twardy.
Twardy told Oakland County Times, “We are thrilled to be able to bring small business tenants to this space and contribute to the re-energizing of our downtown.”
