Northville Seeking to Fill Open Council Seat

Northville Seeking to Fill Open Council Seat

(City of Northville, April 6, 2021)

Northville, MI – City Council Member Sam Ekong announced his resignation on March 25 with eight months left on his four-year term. His departure is due to the sale of his house and plans to move out of the city. The City Council is seeking letters of interest from City residents who are registered voters and would like to fill the remaining months of this term.

The letters should be sent by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14 to the City Clerk. The letter should include the applicant’s full name and address, phone number, and email address. Applicants should express why they want to serve and what areas of expertise they could bring to City Council. Please list your educational and occupational background as well as any civic involvement you have had in the City. Council intends to interview potential candidates at a special meeting on April 22.

Letters of interest may be emailed to Dianne Massa, City Clerk, at dmassa@ci.northville.mi.us or deposited in the drop box on the circle drive in front of City Hall.

A four-year term for this seat will be decided by voters in November 2021.
