Dec 2 & 5 – Santa is Coming to Heritage Park w/Socially Distanced Time Slots
Farmington Hills, MI – Even Santa Claus is making schedule changes due to the pandemic! In place of the usual Cookies with Santa and Breakfast with Santa events, the City of Farmington Hills will host Santa as he makes special stops at Heritage Park this year.
Participants can choose a time slot to register for during the events on Wednesday, December 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, December 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. To ensure social distancing, there will be a limited number of families allowed per half hour time slot and all families will have limited time with Santa. It is important that families arrive during their scheduled time slot only.
Families will visit and take photos with Santa outdoors from a safe distance at the historic Red Barn in Heritage Park. Santa will sit on an antique wagon and families can gather in the cozy sitting area in front for a festive photo opportunity. Be sure to bring your own camera or smart phone so Santa’s helpers can capture the moment for you. Each child will receive a seasonal craft project to enjoy at home after the event.
During Santa’s visit, the Nature Center will be open with an outdoor campfire and hot cocoa; s’more kits will be available for $1 per kit. Dress for the weather and explore the Heritage Park trails on a self-guided winter scavenger hunt.
Pre-registration is required at https://recreg.fhgov.com. The fee is $15 for residents/$20 non-residents. All ages are welcome. Register yourself and bring up to five people of your choice (adults and children). If you have more than six in your group, please register for more than one spot during your half hour time slot. Your cooperation will help with social distancing during the event and keep everyone safe. Please note that masks are required.
