SOCRRA’s Advice on How to Recycle Halloween Decor

Remember that your pumpkins, hay bales, cornstalks, gourds, mums, potting soil, and other vegetation can be put in paper yard waste bags or cans with Yard Waste stickers and placed at the curb.

Please don’t put any of these items in your leaf piles for pickup, or loose on the curb.  Yard waste pickup continues until December 15th.  You give us yard waste, we’ll bring it back as free compost next spring!

Check out our website for other items that can be recycled in the recycling bins http://www.socrra.org/.

SOCRRA is comprised of member communities who work together to have better trash disposal rates and a strong recycling program. Berkley, Beverly Hills, Birmingham, Clawson, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Huntington Woods, Lathrup Village, Oak Park, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak and Troy are all involved. Communities pay based on tonnage, and get rebates based on recycling.
