Oak Park Halloween Map Shows Houses with Decorations and Treats

Oak Park, MI – For those looking for homes to trick or treat at in Oak Park, there is a Google Map created by neighbors that shows spots with decorated houses and those giving out candy on Oct. 31.

Caitlyn Witek and a friend created the map so kids like hers could know where to go. “I own Luna Integrative Health & Wellness and I provide outpatient mental health services to the community. Since this pandemic started, I have witnessed daily the tragic effects these events are having on people’s mental and emotional health,” Witek said.  “I have four children and my heart has broken for them with everything they have missed out on or not been able to celebrate due to the restrictions put on us. So I decided that Halloween needed to be celebrated more than usual! It also happens to be my favorite holiday! I put together the event and an Oak Park neighbor saw the post and created this map so families could find places for their children to go and enjoy the holiday. I wanted to see the neighborhood come together so kids wouldn’t have to go house to house only to see a porch light out and feel disappointed. They have experienced enough disappointment in the past 8 months. ”
