Halloween in Hazel Park: Decor Contest and Halloween Map

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 24, 2020)

Hazel Park, MI – “Hazel Park residents really love Halloween and I wanted to do what I could to increase participation,” said Councilperson Mike McFall of two efforts to celebrate the Oct. 31st holiday.

The first is a Halloween decorating contest with a $250 prize from McFall himself.  And he’s set up a Hazel Park Halloween Map where people can submit their address and if they are doing trick or treat, and/or a decorated home.

The deadline for submission for the contest is midnight Oct. 25.  Voting will begin online Oct. 27 with a link that will be shared at that time. People can nominate a neighbor or submit a nomination for themselves.

Submit your address here: https://form.jotform.com/202947108457056

The Hazel Park Halloween Map can be found at https://bit.ly/37yBLDG, with the green aliens representing homes with candy, and the purple skills directing folks to homes that are decorated and have candy.

McFall is excited for the holiday, saying he hopes it will “bring a little bit of normalcy to the community. Hopefully.”
