Driver Crashes through Wall, Into House in Ferndale

(Crystal A. Proxmire, July 25, 2020)

Ferndale, MI – Just before 5pm Saturday a 43 year old male was driving a Ford minivan when he veered onto College Street at Woodward Avenue, over the curb of the shopping center that contains Rite Aid, the Sprint Store, and Honeybaked Ham, just missed two dumpsters, and crashed through a wall at the back of the parking lot, and into the back door of a duplex.  The vehicle struck the back door of a multi-unit home, shattering the glass.  It’s unclear if there is further damage.  The home was occupied at the time, but neither the driver nor the occupants were injured.

Police on the scene said the man likely had a medical issue that caused the crash.

This story will be updated if more information becomes available.
