Crowdfunding Campaign to Support Ferndale Businesses Has Matching Grants
Ferndale has teamed up with Main Street Oakland County to create a crowdfunding campaign to support small businesses in Ferndale! The #openinferndale campaign is designed to offer support to businesses that need Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other operational modifications to deal with reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Donate to help businesses reopen safely. Main Street Oakland County matches all donations up to $4,000.
“Our small businesses have always been there for us in the past. It’s where we go to dine, to shop, to have fun in our downtown. Now it’s our chance to support them,” said Mayor Melanie Piana in a promotional video for the campaign.
Jacki Smith, chair of the Ferndale DDA Board of Directors and owner of Candle Wick Shoppe also showed her support in the video. “As a small business, we know that every little bit counts. Your donations are going to help these small businesses afford the Personal Protective Equipment necessary to carefully and safely reopen for you,” said Ms. Smith.
