Ferndale Family Displaced by Fire on E. Breckenridge

(Crystal A. Proxmire, April 4, 2020)

Ferndale, MI – A family of six was forced from their home on E. Breckenridge Saturday afternoon when a fire started due to careless smoking, according to Ferndale Fire Chief Jack Pesha.

Firefighters arrived from both Ferndale and Hazel Park and quickly contained the fire. They also rescued two felines from the home. Damage estimates are not yet complete, and the American Red Cross is working with the family by providing housing and access to resources. There were no injuries.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help the family.
