Municipal Work Truck Catches Fire in Hazel Park

(Crystal A. Proxmire, March 18, 2020)

Hazel Park, MI – The ride home from a repair facility did not go as planned for the driver of a city-owned work truck Wednesday afternoon.  A fire began in the engine compartment while the vehicle was near 9 Mile and John R, not far from City Hall at approximately 2pm.

Traffic was disrupted while the Hazel Park Fire Department extinguished the flames.  City Manager Ed Klobucher confirmed that there were no injuries. The roadway has since been cleared.
