Feb 6 – Oscars Night at the Ferndale Library Film Discussion…

Feb 6 – Oscars Night at the Ferndale Library: Film Discussion & Best Picture Predictions

FERNDALE, MI – The Ferndale Library will be hosting an exclusive film discussion on Thu., Feb 6, just in time for that weekend’s televised Oscars Ceremony. Over the last few winters, local cinephile (i.e., “film buff”) Greg Black has consistently been leading presentations around the area that focus on the newest nominations for Academy Awards. For movie fans, this is an excellent opportunity to become familiar with 2020’s Best Picture Nominees before the envelopes are opened.

Black will be here on Thu., Feb 6, for his annual breakdown of all the big contenders for Best Picture. The visual presentation and discussion formally start at 6:30 pm, but early-bird arrivals are encouraged, as Black will also be showing trailers from his own personal favorites that were snubbed of Best Picture nominations starting just after 6 pm. Black studied media and film in college and works in television; there’s nothing he loves more than watching films and discussing the art of cinema. Interactive questions from audience members are encouraged, so let’s hear some predictions!

Whether its the film with the most nominees, the least nominees, or a film you haven’t even seen yet, you could walk away from Black’s presentation not only with a deeper understanding of each contender but with a pretty good bet of knowing the exact answer before the presenter says: “…and the Oscar goes to…”
