Holiday Gift Ideas: Candle Wick Shoppe

(Crystal A. Proxmire, orig. Nov. 27, 2019)

Ferndale, MI – If you are looking for elegant tall red and white candles in holders adorned with fake snow-glazed evergreen with pine cones and pretty bows, Candle Wick Shoppe is not that place. However, if you are looking for some unique candle lines with scents to speak to many souls, you may want to check out this downtown Ferndale spot for Small Business Saturday and other holiday shopping.

Owner Jacki Smith (whose books are also on the store’s shelves) takes care to pick out candles that are special, in addition to the Coventry Candle line which she created.

Among them are Wicks for Waggs that help raise money for rescue animals, Jax Kelly Crystal Candles, and Dorothy Morrisson’s Wicked Witch candles. The “Spirited Discourse” communications clarifier and “As the Cauldron Bubbles,” which “serve pot stirrers a taste of their own medicine,” could be great stocking-stuffers. Not all the candles are snarky though. Lots of sentiments can be found on the Candle Wick Shoppe shelves, such as Inner Beauty, Calming, Confidence, and Attraction. And then there are those that simply smell wonderful, like Wax Apothecary’s Pure Rose.

In addition to all the candles, there are other fun gifts, like empowering patches for witches, pins with throw back culture characters, and mugs with grumpy sayings. A display table with various rocks and crystals also has some pretty jewelry.

Below are just some of the exciting items at Candlewick Shoppe. Visit them at 175 W Nine Mile Rd, Ferndale, MI 48220 or check them out online at www.candlewickshoppe.com. Candlewick Shoppe is a longtime supporter of local journalism Oakland County Times.
