Job Posting: FernCare Free Clinic Hiring Executive Director

Ferndale, MI – FernCare Free Clinic is hiring a part time Executive Director to work 25 hours per week.

FernCare Free Clinic is a primary care medical clinic serving anyone from 19 through 64 who has no health insurance.

FernCare is located at FernCare Free Clinic, 751 E. 9 Mile Rd., Ste 2, Ferndale MI 48220.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

~Create and communicate overall vision and mission of the organization in partnership with the Board of Directors and ensure planning and execution of all activities supporting them.

~Oversee functional operations of FernCare Free Clinic (non-clinical). Responsibility includes facility management, volunteer cultivation and supervision, fundraising and reporting,

~Develop and maintain strong relationships with key constituencies, including grantors, other funders, community partners and the medical community.

~Represent FernCare publicly in the community, particularly to media, community agencies and governmental organizations.

~Partner with the Clinic Manager and Medical Director to ensure all aspects of the Clinic are ready and available to serve the patient population.

~Direct supervision of Office Manager, Clinic Manager, bookkeeper, IT, Insurance enrollment coordinators and the equipment/medications drop off site.

~Ensure all required reporting is prepared and presented to the Board of Directors in a timely basis.

~Actively plan and execute Board Development activities in conjunction with the Chairperson of the Board.

~Administer FernCare’s administrative functions in alignment with FernCare’s Finance Policy. Work in conjunction with the Board Treasurer on developing an annual budget.

~Participate in developing and lead execution of both long term and annual strategic plan.

~Manage and monitor all external communications including mail, electronic messaging and communications. Social Media experience a plus.

Education and Work Experience Requirement

~Bachelors’ Degree in business, public health or social services preferred. Will accept a combination of education and work experience.

~5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare setting.

~Experience working with a workforce that is largely volunteer.

~Fundraising experience required, both in grant writing and administration as well as event planning.

~Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.

~Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications.

Physical Requirements

~Ability to work in a general office environment and lift at least 25 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

If the applicant is approved by the Board, the applicant will be offered part-time employment without paid benefits excepting a paid two-week vacation.  Starting annual range is $40,000 – $50,000, depending upon level of qualification and experience.
