Dec. 12 – Sing and Stroll Tree Lighting in Lake Orion

Join us as we start a new tradition! The sounds of carolers will fill the air starting at 5:30 pm on Thursday, December 12th as you shop and stroll through Downtown Lake Orion. Sing along as carolers render wonderful versions of the holiday classics we’ve all come to love. Carolers will begin leading the procession from downtown into the Children’s Park Gazebo at 5:45 pm for the annual Hometown Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Interested in being part of the fun? There is an open invitation to all carolers.  For more information please contact Shannon Schon at

The Hometown Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 6 pm on Thursday, December 12th, in the Gazebo at Children’s Park. The volunteer carolers will lead us in a holiday song before the official tree lighting happens. The tree lighting will be performed by DDA Board Chair, Debbie Burgess.  Debbie Burgess is co-owner of Builders Custom Flooring and has been an active member of the Downtown Lake Orion Business Community for many years

Stay for the festivities after the tree lighting! Carolers can be found throughout Downtown Lake Orion, and inside shops singing. Stores will be open late to accommodate shoppers. Participating stores may have specials like hot chocolate, candy canes, or deals on store items. Be sure to spot Santa’s elves as they will be stationed on the street corners taking notes for Santa, who will be looking out a second story window, calling and waving to children below.

The Sing & Stroll Tree Lighting would not be possible without the kind voices of the volunteer carolers. Thank you to our generous sponsors Genisys Credit Union and Broadway Embroidery.
