Pontiac, MI – Each year the Clarence E. Phillips Ascend Foundation and NPG Foundations in Pontiac bring the community together to feed local families in need for Thanksgiving.

This year there are 14 families on the list, and Ascend Foundation President Kaino Phillips is reaching out for specific items to help feed them all.

“Thanksgiving is coming up and during this upcoming holiday season, times are hard for so many,” Phillips said in a post on social media. “There is a lot of good people that are just looking to be able to put a good meal on the table for their family during this upcoming Thanksgiving Day. That being said, I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

“We have all of the: turkey and macaroni we can take. Please grab some of the other items: Top of the line Hams, Cranberry Sauce, Dressing, Corn, Glory Greens, Soda Pop and Juice, Mash Potatoes, Roll Bread, Gravy or a Monetary Contribution that will go towards us providing all of these items and placing them in our Care Packages!”

“This is our 6th year doing this project and if you could have witnessed the looks on these families faces and witnessed the tears that fell from some of the mothers eyes, you would understand how gut wrenching this program is,” Phillips said.

Those wanting to donate can email Kaino Phillips at and those who want to pay online can do so at on the donate tab.
