Nov. 9 – Wild Edibles Presentation at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills
This November, as the temperatures starts to drop, the City of Rochester Hills will have a couple great programs for people to still get outdoors. The City’s Parks & Natural Resources Department, through their Outdoor Engagement unit, will be holding multiple programs for individuals and families. Join our naturalists, Lance and Lauren for a Campfire and Night Hike on November 7th where we call for owls and see what else we can spot. On the 9th, learn about the many different things that are edible out in nature. What plants are safe to eat and those that aren’t. Also on the 9th we are offering a chance for participants to test their nature knowledge and code breaking skills as you embark on this unique scavenger hunt and hike at our “Unnatural Trail Scavenger Hunt” program.
In addition to the scheduled programs, special interest groups and scouting groups can also contact us to set up a program or hike with our naturalists this winter; also check our website in the near future to see about other programs coming in January.
Space is limited with these programs, so register now. To register for any of these or our other upcoming Outdoor Engagement Opportunities visit our website rochesterhills.org/outdoors or call the Parks & Natural Resources Department 248-656-4673.
