Nov. 16 – College Essay Workshop for Teens at Berkley Library

Saturday, November 16 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This two-hour workshop aims to introduce students to the written genre of the personal essay for college applications and scholarships.  At the end of the workshop, students will have composed a first draft of a personal essay by following the steps outlined in the materials they receive. The presenter is Dr. Nicole Guinot Varty, senior lecturer at Wayne State University. She teaches writing classes at all levels—from pre-college bridge programs to doctoral teacher-training courses.
