Nov. 15 – Royal Oak Historical Society Presentation on Battle of Normandy

June 6, 1944 is arguably the most important single day in western history. Failure of the Normandy landings could have resulted in a very different world than what we know today. As important as that single day was, however, D-Day did not end the Battle for France, much less the Second World War.

Join us for a special presentation given by James Craft, an independent consultant and historian. James will set the stage for the invasion and discuss the challenges the Allied forces faced building up to and during this important battle. He will describe the incredible difficulties the American troops overcame and discuss the later offensives that helped to destroy the German Army in northern France.
