Reporter Food: Chicken Fried Chicken at Fork n’ Pint in Lake Orion

Lake Orion, MI- One of the most frequently suggested restaurants we hear is for Fork n’ Pint at 51 N. Broadway in Lake Orion. They also have a location at 4000 Cass Elizabeth Road in Waterford. I can see why it’s come recommended so highly.

I recently found myself in town and hungry, so I decided to give Fork n Pint a try. I asked for a the barkeeper’s recommendation and agreed that chicken fried chicken sounded like an amazing lunch.

So, this is some chicken made with care. They flatten strips of chicken and then they double drench them in seasoned flour and buttermilk before flash frying them. Then they are topped with chicken gravy. To balance out that greasy, crispy goodness, the plate is piled high with steamed broccoli and chunky real mashed potatoes. This is the kind of meal for savoring, followed by a nap. The portions were so huge I had leftovers for another meal and a snack.

The rest of the menu looks great too. There are Brussels sprouts tossed with bacon, honey, sriracha and lime glaze, truffle fries, the Lake Orion sausage pizza, mango beef with rice, corned beef boxty, Cass Lake chicken, and sandwiches like the cock and bull and the fork n’ big reuben.

I love the decor. There’s a nice-sized outdoor patio, and inside the walls have a wooded theme. Beautiful autumn wallpaper is like being inside a forest of gold and orange trees, and near me was a deep, aqua blue wall with the silhouette of a tree formed by circular cuts of tree limbs.
