July 13: Berkley Street Art Fest

When: July 13, 2019 11 am to 5 pm

What: Downtown Berkley will be transformed with art as professional and amateur chalk artists create colorful street art with chances to win prizes. Commissioned artists will be creating murals on buildings throughout the city. Children will have the opportunity to create their own art in the children’s tent area too. People throughout metro Detroit will have the opportunity to watch these artists as their masterpieces come to life.

Where: Chalk art on Coolidge Hwy. between Catalpa and Wiltshire. Murals throughout Berkely. Complete listing can be picked up at the Chamber booth at the Festival.

Who: The Berkley Street Art Fest is brought to you by the Berkley Area Chamber of Commerce working with a volunteer committee of City of Berkley departments, residents and business owners.

Who can participate in the chalk art contest: Participants of all abilities and ages are encouraged to help transform downtown Berkley into vibrant colors and works of art. Registration fee includes 1 box of 24 artist chalk. Chalk artist participants can begin creating their art at 8 am. Registered artists have chance to win cash prizes in these categories: Adult – Age 18+, 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize Youth – Age 12 to 17 on Day of event, 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize Team/Family – Max. 4 members per Team/Family, 1st prize only

People’s Choice: Attendees who view your artwork will vote for their favorite one. 1st prize only. 

Registration is closed but you can walk up day of event between 8 am and 10 am to still participate.
