July 12 – Concert in Southfield: The Rhythm Kings

The Southfield Parks & Recreation Department will host the Summer in the City concert series each Friday from June 21 – July 12 from 7-9 p.m. on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road.

This free, family-friendly event will celebrate summer with food trucks, activities for kids and outdoor concerts from an eclectic mix of music. An assortment of the area’s best food trucks will be on-site at 6 p.m. with food available for purchase. Southfield Parks & Recreation’s Recreation on the Move will bring special games, activities and fun geared toward children from 7-9 p.m.

The concert lineup includes:

June 21 — L’USA (Variety of late 70s, 80s and early 90s soulful rock)

June 28 — Phase 5 (Motown tribute act performing hits from The Temptations, The Four Top, Smokey Robinson, The Contours and more)

July 5 — The Sun Messengers (Eight-piece, horn-driven R&B party band)

July 12 — The Rhythm Kings (Variety of soul, R&B, Rock and Motown)

Admission and parking are free. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
