June 18 – Intercepting Racism Skills Building Workshop in Ferndale

June 18 – Intercepting Racism Skills Building Workshop in Ferndale

Ferndale, MI – June 18 from 7-9pm at Ferndale High School

How many of us have experienced racism, either directed toward us or happening in front of us but were able to intercept it with confidence?

About this Event

Racist responses, whether blatant or implicit, need to be addressed; but doing so requires skill training. During this experiential exercise, participants will role play different scenarios and craft a plan of action when witnessing comments/behaviors from different groups of people (bosses, family members, colleagues, friends, strangers, and children).

This training is provided by Megan Fuciarelli of US2. US2 is a consulting firm focused on issues of equity, inclusion, and social justice. Ranging from professional development and training to experiential exercises, they support agencies and individuals recognize and understand bias and its’ impact while also discussing how to intercept discriminatory behaviors.
This event is free, but registration is required. Click here to reserve your spot.
