Southfield, MI- After 40 years of successfully producing plays in Northwest Detroit, but growing tired of a leaky roof in our rented facility, the Rosedale Community Players have settled into Peace Lutheran Church on 13 Mile in Southfield while looking for a building to call our own.
Just last month we had a large celebration of our 50 years as a theatre company. During those years we have staged more than 150 high quality, pleasurable, plays and satisfied thousands of patrons. As we begin our next 50 years we want you to know that we plan to continue offering enjoyable productions featuring great actors and produced by our talented crew. Our usual season contains three, or sometimes four, full length plays, and a production of several new one act plays combined into an evening of variety.
Unlike most theatres, we have cabaret seating with free popcorn on every table! Patrons are encouraged to come early and bring in dinner and/or adult beverages. Our concession area has coffee, tea and pop available and often baked goodies.
Our mission has always been to enrich the cultural life of our neighbors far and wide. We invite readers to attend a production but more than that we invite you to come to a meeting, to audition for a show, or to work with a crew building the set or working backstage. Our membership of around 80 comes from far away areas of all three counties as do our patrons.
Rosedale Community Players is a non-profit organization. More information regarding previous productions, upcoming events, meetings, and ticket info are available on our web site, www.rosedalecommunityplayers.com or call 313-532-4010.
