Ferndale State of the Schools is Actually a Scavenger Hunt, April 22

Ferndale, MI – Discover all that is new and exciting in Ferndale Schools with a special State of the Schools Scavenger Hunt. The journey begins April 22 at 6pm at Ferndale High School.  Teams of four will explore the school, unlocking mysteries within and learning about the district in the process.

“Be one of the first three teams to uncover the truth, and take home fortune and fame,” a flier for the event touts.  “In exchange for your bravery, we will provide all food and accommodations for your entire expedition.”

“The whole point to a state of the district address is to inform the community about the health of our schools. While the previous speeches were great, we simply did not get the engagement we want.  So, in working with the Board, we decided to try something different.  Last year was the first year of the Scavenger Hunt and we had more than 50 participants, which is a dramatic increase over previous State of the District speeches.  The word of mouth was so strong about the event this year we are expecting an even bigger turnout.  With more than a month to do until the event we already have more than 10, four person teams signed up,” said Superintendent Dania Bazzi.

There will be a brief presentation at the beginning and the teams will be sent on their way.  The top three teams will receive gift cards from local Ferndale establishments.

Teams must register at www.FerndaleSchools.org/adventure
