The City of Farmington Hills and the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce will host a special workshop on Monday, February 25 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 31555 W. Eleven Mile Road. The workshop is designed for area businesses that want to learn “How to Do Business with the City of Farmington Hills.”
City officials and Purchasing Division representatives will invite businesses to:
Learn about the City’s bid process
Become active participants in the City’s e-procurement system
Find out how to get notified about available contracts
Get the details on upcoming large projects
Hear about bid opportunities for local road construction
Learn more about the re-purposing of Harrison High School into a Community Recreation and Arts Center
Following the presentation, City staff will be available to help businesses register for MITN, the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network. MITN is a purchasing group that provides a way for local government agencies in Michigan to more effectively notify vendors of RFP (Request for Proposal) and bid opportunities, while using shared resources to increase efficiency and reduce costs. The procurement solution delivers suppliers a centralized online location to view and receive Michigan RFPs and bid opportunities from over 100 Michigan local government agencies.
A light breakfast will be available and participants are encouraged to enter a business card raffle for a VISA gift card to use at a local business. To register for the workshop, go to the GFA Chamber website at www.gfachamber.com under the Events tab. For more information, please call the GFA Chamber at 248-919-6917.
