Holly, MI – Wastewater Plant Operator

Nature of Work:

Responsible for performing various tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of the Village wastewater plant. WWTP Operator must be capable of operating the wastewater plant in the absence of the Senior Wastewater Plant Operator.

Supervision Exercised/Received:

Works under the direct supervision of the Utilities Director, Wastewater Group leader, or in their absence, their designated appointee.

Examples of Work Performed:

(This list is not absolute and duties or responsibilities may be redefined in accordance with operational needs.)

Perform daily, weekly, monthly lab operations and testing.

Capable of taking various samples and completing operation reports.

Operate and maintain pumps, motors, filters and other electrical and mechanical components needed to operate the wastewater plant.

Perform other related duties as needed or required.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of all components of a municipal wastewater plant and the operation thereof.

General knowledge of pumps motors and filter systems.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with supervisors, peers and citizens.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D

Municipal wastewater experience desired.

Hold a D wastewater license or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Possess Valid Michigan Driver’s license.

Wage:  $17.78 – $23.61 DOQ with full benefits per union contract
