Farmington Hills Parks & Recreation Master Plan Visioning Session Sept. 25

Farmington Hills Parks & Recreation Master Plan Visioning Session Sept. 25

The City of Farmington Hills Special Services Department is in the process of updating the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which will lay the groundwork for the programs and services offered to the community for the next five years.

A meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Costick Center, located at 28600 Eleven Mile Road, to gather input on what community members think of the City’s parks, programs, and facilities.  City officials and Special Services Department staff will be available to answer questions and receive suggestions.

The Special Services Department provides activities including fitness classes, cultural arts events, after school youth programs, senior outreach, youth sports leagues, summer camps, and more.  Facilities run by the Special Services Department include the Costick Center, the Ice Arena, the Nature Center, and the Farmington Hills Golf Club.

“Public input is a very important part of implementing the Master Plan and creating a vision for the City’s Parks and Recreation programs,” said Ellen Schnackel, Director of Special Services.  “We hope to see a good turnout from the community at the meeting on September 25.”

The Visioning Session will feature literature and information about Special Services programs and light refreshments will be provided.  All interested residents are welcome to drop in anytime between 6 and 8 p.m.
