Ballot Shortages Hinder Elections in Oakland County

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Aug. 7, 2018)

Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Oak Park, and Pontiac, MI- Voters in multiple communities are reporting ballot shortages when they showed up to their local precincts.  Among those impacted are Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Oak Park, and Pontiac, MI.

Some voters waited for printed ballots, while others were taken one by one on machines designed for those with accessibility issues.  State Law requires that everyone who shows up to vote be accommodated, but some people decided not to wait.

The extent of the shortage is not yet known. This story will be updated as more information become available.
