Novi Youth Theatre Presents Honk! Jr. May 3, 4, 5 and 6

NOVI, MI– Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services is excited to present a youth musical theatre production of Honk! Jr. on May 3, 4, 5 and 6 at the Novi Civic Center. The 62 actors range from kindergarten to eighth grade and hail from Novi and the surrounding area. The actors are divided into two casts, with each cast performing three shows.

Adapted from the original Broadway musical with book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe and music by George Stiles, Honk Jr. tells the story of the main character Ugly, a duckling whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Feeling foul about himself, Ugly is separated from his farm community and pursued by a hungry cat as he goes on an adventure of self-discovery, struggling to make his way home again. Along his journey he meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out that being different is not a bad thing. A heartwarming story for all ages that is charming and deeply moving, and winner of the 2000 Olivier Award (the British equivalent of the Tony Award) for Best New Musical, Honk Jr. will treat you to equal amounts laughter and tears.
