Royal Oak Historical Society Presents: Smoke Signals to the Smart Phone Feb. 4
Royal Oak, MI – The Royal Oak Historical Society Museum present’s its latest exhibit, “A Journey to the Smart Phone…smoke signals to the smart phone” on Sunday Feb. 4, 2018. from 2 till 4 pm.
The Sunday opening is a Preview Party/fund raiser for the Museum. We are asking for a $5 donation P.P., children under 12 are free. Refreshments will be served.
This exhibit will show in photos and stories as well a physical artifacts of all the many forms communications have taken through the years. From the semaphore, the wireless, Morse code, to the Magic lantern, stereopticons, radios, TV, telephones and so much more.
The exhibit will run till the end of June, 2018, with the addition in May of artifacts depicting the Royal Oak Police Department’s 100 years of history. There will be a 100th Anniversary Celebration in May at the Museum, the date to be determined.
The Exhibit will be open our regular days, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1 pm till 4 pm.
We love to open the Museum for groups, so if you have 15 or more and would like a private tour, email curator@royaloakhistoricalsociety.org to set a date. A donation of $25 per hour is requested.
