Free Naloxone/Narcan Training with Samples in Hazel Park Jan. 29

(Hazel Park Community Coalition)

We are excited to announce that we will be partnering up with Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities Oakland County Families Against Narcotics, Hazel Park Police Department, Hazel Park Fire Department, as well as a local medical doctor to have a free Naloxone (NARCAN) training session here in the City of Hazel Park on Monday, January 29th, 2018 at 7 pm at the Hazel Park Rec Center located at 620 W. Woodward Heights.

Naloxone, is an opioid blocker used for the complete or partial reversal of opioid overdose. As many of you know, the United States is currently facing a widespread opioid epidemic. This training hopes to give insight into that epidemic and teach a method that is now being used by first-respondents in several locations. The training is completely free and open to anyone who is interested over the age of 12 years of age. Anyone who attends will receive a “Safety First” kit that includes a free Naloxone auto-injector, with two inject-able doses.
