Axle Brewing History and Beer Sampling at Ferndale Library Jan. 4

FERNDALE, MI – Happy New Year & Happy New Beer!  The Ferndale Library invites Axle Brewing Co. for a visit on Jan 4th at 7pm to give an exclusive presentation that tells their story as well as give local beer lovers a glimpse behind the scenes of how they make their specialty craft brews. Oh, and there will be some sampling going on! Not to mention some pairing recommendations from culinary staff to find perfect harmony for you winter beers.

Those attending “The Story of Axle” get the chance to hear about the experience of establishing an independent brewery from Axle’s President Dan Riley. Riley will also discuss why they chose Ferndale as the city where they wanted to open their flagship restaurant, Livernois Tap. Brand manager Scott Warrens and one of Axle’s professional brewmasters will then give a brief presentation on their process of crushing up barley, boiling, fermenting, and whatever other magic goes into it…!

After that, pre-registered audience members get to learn about Axle’s top 3 beers while sampling some sips. That will be followed up by their chef’s presentation on optimal “pairing,” along with some samples of tasty dips from Axle’s regular menu. This hour long program should allow for some Q&A at the end for anyone eager to learn more about microbrewing. Most of all, it’s a chance to acquaint yourself with the team behind Axle, who are celebrating the New Year by marking six months at their new home on Livernois, just north of 8 Mile.

If you haven’t made it out to Axle yet, or just want to hear more of the story, mark your calendars and make sure to visit the library on January 4th.

The Ferndale Library is located at 222 E. 9 Mile.  Learn more at https://www.ferndalepubliclibrary.org/
