Oakland County, MI – Each year the Royal Oak Library compiles a list of resources for people in the area in need of shelter, food, clothing and other resoureces.  The following is the list they put together plus resources we have added in.  This list will be updated if other resources are found. Shelter

Welcome Inn—Covenant Presbyterian Church

Open December 19 through March 17. Hours: Mon-Fri 6:30am – 8pm. Food, shelter, showers, laundry, computers and telephone access.

South Oakland Shelter 18505 W. 12 Mile Rd, Lathrup Village (248) 809-3773 Call Sunday through Friday at 10 AM for possible intake. Lodging, food pantry, clothing closet, case management, health services, and laundry.

Grace Centers of Hope

Saturdays: 9:30am-11:45am. The pantry will be closed on the following dates: December 24, 26, 31. January 2.

Saint Paul Lutheran Church

Food Pantry for low income individuals and families on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Hours: 9 AM to 11 Am. And 1 PM to3 PM. Must present driver’s license or photo ID.

Common Ground Shelter for Runaway Youth

1222 S. Washington, Royal Oak (248) 547-2260. 1(800) 231-1127. Short –term shelter for runaway and homeless youths aged 10-17. Counselling and substance abuse education available. No court wards; voluntary program: parental consent required. Call first.
